BarCampHK 2010
BarCampHK 2010今年在香港理工大學舉行。這是一位在互聯網宣傳Ubuntu Hong Kong LoCo Team時認識的朋友Sammy Fung介紹給我的。這真是別具意義的一次。1)因為這是我第一个參與有關Open Source的活動。2)而且也是我修讀的母校香港理工大學舉行。3)我亦要為籌組Ubuntu Hong Kong LoCo Team找一个平台宣傳。這正給我一个很好的機會。總体來說，這都給我很好的一次体驗。而我看到大部份參與者都是外國人／海外華人（俗稱ABC）的多，土生香港人的少。希望下年會多d香港開源愛好者來体驗一下吧。

What a wonderful Ubuntu community!
Back to the time two weeks ago, I joined several Ubuntu Opportunistic Week IRC sessions through Lernid. It's a wonderful experience I never have before. Every enthusiastic open source developer attended the online IRC session to learn and discuss with the volunteer tutor who teaching you the necessary skill helpful to contribute something back to the community. That's what a healthy open source community running.
The sessions I joined are Python for Beginner and Python for Programmer. That's really a helpful quick start. The lessons geared me up to contribute in especially the Linux desktop open source project while Python is one of the most important and widely deployed language in this area.
It's exciting moment and I can waste no time to start my journey of Linux desktop development and, of course, contribution!

2010: That's all about Open Source, Ubuntu Linux and more!
This is the sixth of January on Chinese lunar calendar. As a new year start, I decide to make something different in my life or even the career in 2010. The first thing I decided to do is to writing blog. This is my first time writing blog ever. So, let me lay it down what I am trying to achieve in 2010.

- Start up a Ubuntu LoCo Hong Kong Team
- Recruit any interested party joining the LoCo Hong Kong Team
- Keep writing blogs about Ubuntu Linux
- Pursue making business in SME on open source solution
Ok. That is for today. I just hope to keep the blog short enough to share my thoughts with others. I hate to see blogs that have over thousands of words.
